We Are Family Foundation (WAFF) is adding a full-time, senior level position to our global team of creative and dedicated humans who believe that young people are innovating and creating the most positive social impact of our lifetime. WAFF is searching for a highly experienced, multi-talented, creative storyteller to strategically develop and implement WAFF’s vision, aesthetic, and voice across ALL internal and outward comms, positioning WAFF as a global leader in the youth space – maximizing reach on key messaging – for WAFF and the individuals within our global community.

  • Chief Storyteller / Creative Director

  • Senior level position reporting to WAFF’s President
  • Oversee creative team(s) – graphic design, social media & film
  • Virtual / Remote
  • Salary: $90,000+ annual; $700 monthly medical stipend


  • 3 – 5+ Years Experience in Storytelling
  • Creative Direction
  • Brand Development
  • Marketing
  • Written Communication: copy writing/editing/fact-checking
  • Content Creation: Online web & social media platforms


WAFF’s Chief Storyteller / Creative Director, will be responsible for:


  • WAFF’s Brand Story: Strategize, develop and implement WAFF’s brand story consistent across all programs and platforms
  • WAFF’s Comms: All outward & internal comms strategy


  • Developing and implementing a distinct WAFF voice that represents clear communication, transparency, open-mindedness, empathy, joy, creativity, culture shifts, diversity and inclusion, and social justice
  • Keeping all content on-brand, consistent in terms of style, quality and voice. Embody the WAFF voice and tone in every communication


  • Developing and implementing a weekly / monthly Editorial Calendar
  • Overseeing the creation and publishing of relevant, original, high-quality content that tells a coherent cross-platform story that people will want to follow and engage with
  • Tracking key dates such as global events, holidays and news that may impact the content shared
  • Displaying in-depth knowledge and understanding of social media strategies, platforms (Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.) and how each platform can be deployed to successfully execute an overall strategy
  • Growing WAFF’s audience across all platforms
  • Staying up to date with “best” or “common” practices of social media and digital marketing


  • Be fully vaccinated against COVID-19
  • Have strong organizational skills
  • Meet deadlines, prioritize multiple projects
  • Have great attention to detail and accuracy
  • Work well independently/remotely
  • Be a good listener – pay attention to changing environments, adapt and be flexible when necessary
  • Be immersed in social justice/equity, global issues, and aware of how young people are creating positive impact
  • Work from where you feel the most safe and creative, but be flexible to virtual gatherings across multiple time zones
  • Be able to travel to WAFF team meetings, events and gatherings


  • Have traveled extensively and/or understand cultures other than your own
  • Are connected to networks and organizations supporting youth leaders
  • Have discerning visual (photo & video) skills
  • Are proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud/Suite
  • Understand SEO/online marketing
  • Have an understanding and love for music (from all parts of the world)


  • Believe in the power of young people and want to help lead a culture shift of intergenerational leadership
  • Have a global lens and want to help celebrate diverse youth leaders without tokenizing them or engaging in performative posting styles
  • Understand the power of creative, smart storytelling that is simple and emotes emotional connection
  • Understand the power of the written word through a diverse lens and how to communicate authentically, witty and command engagement.
  • Understand the power of visual mediums – how to evoke connection and community through all visual presentations
  • Know how to build and grow a brand
  • Know how to truly activate engagement through social media
